I cut my hair! A whole ton of it! I've been growing my hair out for 2 years, and long story short, it was time. I donated it once before to Pantene Beautiful Lengths about 5 years ago. They say it takes
6 ponytails to make a wig, and I hoped I'd be able to do it 6 times but I don't think I have that much time left before I have to start dying my hair :(
PBL is my choice of recipient for my hair because: they only require 8 inches, whereas the more famous Locks of Love requires 10. Also, I feel like Locks of Love gets the most press, and while children getting wigs is great, adults need them too. I kind of thought, if I could do it 6 times, then maybe if I ever needed one I'd have that out in the universe.
Here's another thing. Something I don't talk about ever, really, except for with my husband. Someone in my family is battling Multiple Myeloma right now. It's a blood cancer and it's a doozie. Without getting into any detail, that person is on my mind on a daily basis. They may or may not read this, and I probably won't tell them this post is being written. It's not about that. I chose OPI Visions of Love because maroon is the chosen color ribbon (who chooses that stuff?) for MM. I also placed a small heart stud, sent to me by a friend. I've never worn studs before, and I'm not sure how often I will, but I just felt this needed something simple and significant.
Soo.... there's my hair! Yes, it does have a natural flip to it, it's a blessing and a curse. :)
Another shot of OPI Visions of Love. It's a deep burgundy jelly and thankfully it doesn't look black, it's so dark! I will definitely pull this out again when my nails are shorter.
Here's my new do! No fault of my hair girl, she measured my hair many times before she cut it, but I swear the cut line was like 2 inches longer than what my hair wound up being. She said she didn't take off any length layering butttttt it's a tad shorter than I wanted. Dang that hair flip.
