Super Bowl (Patriot themed) nails for 2015!

Image
Hey guys! It's Superbowl Sunday! Today I have a little thing called "twin nails" where I and another girl (my friend Beckie of @PolishedbyBeckie) get together and design a mani to do together! Fun right! Even with the same design the outcome is still usually just a tad different and I love that! I stayed up way late last night to get these done (so busy lately!) and I was filming each step which always make the process take longer! Beckie and I are both Patriots fans so naturally we needed to do some Patriots nails!   Click Read more after the jump for more pics and polishes used!

This is just a fun little post to show off our offical Superbowl merch...picked up by my husband on a recent trip to NY. He tried to find a little trophy replica, but there were none to be found! I don't have any "true chrome" polishes, but this is the most beautiful silver I own..... OPI This Gown Needs a Crown. ZOMG! shade direct sun shade direct sun-blurry to show sparkles direct sun

Denver Broncos Inspired Nails (chevrons)

Image
More football nails today! These are my "Denver Broncos" nails, like I said in the past, I am unable to free hand logos and such so I like to create graphic representations of things! I really love how these came out, exactly as I had on paper. Besides the fact that they involve orange....ewwwwww. shade direct sun (yay) Here's how I did them. For the chevron nails, I started with solid orange.  Once it was really dry (several hours) I used scotch tape strips cut with my pinking shears. I am finding that when using creme-on-creme-tape designs, scotch tape works best. I just don't get as clean of lines with painters tape. For the orange-tipped blue nails, I painted a narrow strip of white at the tips, then orange. If you just put the orange straight on the blue, it gets swallowed. tutorial The colors I used are NOPI Fairy Fairy Quite Contrary and OPI I saw, You saw, We saw, Warsaw.

Traditional football nails

Hey guys!  Here's some traditional football nails for you! Can we just address how sad I am that there's only one football game left this year? SAD FACE. I used Zoya Louise for the brown, it's pretty much the most perfect chocolately footbally brown I own. shade direct sun Here's a quick tutorial: Start with solid brown nails. For the grassy nail, I used a base of a green texture (Chita) and then layered over green bar glitter (Rina) and I'm super happy with the way it came out! It really looks like turf! Use a white striper to draw football laces on the brown nails. That's it! tutorial Here's the Line up: from L: Louise, Chita, Rina, white striper

Game Day Wrap Up, Week 1.

AGGIES 48, SFA 7 We had a great day NOT watching the Aggie game. We're lucky to get any Big XII games here in TN, and Aggie games are rarer. But we did listen to it on Aggie 96 through the Husband's iPhone radio app. Dave South, people!! Obviously it was my Aggie cake that propelled us to beat Stephen F. Austin. I made a crap-ton of food, meant for us to graze on throughout the weekend. Salsa, Queso (I'm trying to perfect a copy of restaurant queso, which is more involved than throwing Rotel and Velveeta together in the microwave. Good thing I have many willing taste-testers), 7-layer dip, potato skins, and of course our Aggie Cake. And leftover fajitas. It would have been even better had I not realized at 5pm Saturday that we were almost out of Tortilla chips. I swear we had another bag in the pantry. Saturday was beautiful, the high was like 78!! Ack! I so hope this is not a weather tease. We had the windows open All. Day. Long. Dinner was going along swimmingly when, af...
