Thanksgiving 2016: Thanksgiving Disney nails!

Image
Hey guys! Today I decided to do a little throwback to one of my most popular mani's. No, definitely my most popular and most reposted/pinned I've ever done!  Almost 3 years ago I did some Disney-themed nails with out character's actual faces, which I prefer so  far because I have zero drawing skills! I had no idea it would take off like it did. They were actually the first mani I did to kick off the relaunch of my blog!! You can see that post HERE  :) I thought about how I could take the same design and make it Thanksgiving themed! I wish I would have thought to do that with Halloween! I'm going to try to do it for each major holiday now. It is fun! This would be a great look to rock if you will be at the Parks or on a Cruise for Thanksgiving! I wish we were!!!! Here are my original nails! So much has changed since then! I have a lot of pictures of this mani so prepare for some spam ;) The method could not be more simple: I started with a ...

OPI Brazil 2014--My picks, Comparisons, and Art! (Part 1: The Brights)

Image
Hey guys! Happy Hump Day! Who else beside me is is SOOOO excited for these Brazils??? I've been waiting FOREVER for these to come out and they are finally here! I'm breaking up my posts on this collection into 3 parts: The Brights, The Nudes, and the Sands. Each one will have some nail art also using those colors! I don't have the entire collection..... I purchased these myself so I had to think long and hard about which ones I really wanted. I decided to skip out on the red, the coral-y red, the darker orange, and the purple-y shimmer. (like how technical I am?) The ones I chose are truly unique in my collection, plus I love them so much. Even more now that I've worn them!  They are all cremes....and apply like a DREAM. What we've come to know and expect from OPI. I also wanted to include some quick comparisons in these posts. I don't have a ginormous amount of polish, but I do sorta have a lot of OPI, so I started there. I just love seeing and reading comp...

Cupcake and sprinkles

Hey yall! Here's my "sweets" nails for the #nailartJan Instagram challenge. Yall, I was a serious loss for this one! I don't do cutesy stuff on my nails very often, and I went back and forth a million times on what to do. I decided on cupcakes, then realized I could use my bday polish Picture Polish Frosting! I really love how they came out! shade Here's a pic in direct sun. I'm trying to get more shots in direct sun over shade, I just dislike how my skin tone looks! Hashtag nail polish problems, right. direct sun Here's the lineup: the PP is on the sheer side, so I usually use a light pink base to make her last longer. from L: OPI Ridge Filler base, OPI Alpine Snow Picture Polish Frosting, OPI Step Right Up! When you wish upon a star...Mickey & Minnie Mouse nail art

Image
Hey guys! I have been wanting to do "Disney" nails for a while! With the WDW marathon happening this weekend, now was my chance! I'm not running in it but I wish I was  :(  I prefer symbolic references to characters over actual faces, you will see that a lot in my work! I also, after much deliberation, decided to add some small Mickey ears. Here are the polishes I used: from L: OPI Thrill of Brazil (my new favorite red! This will be my go to from now on! It is a one-coater for me!), China Glaze Angel Wings, Sally hanson white and black, Zoya Storm, and for the star I fished out one from the Revlon Celestial FX. It's good to have on hand! It has holographic stars, crescent moons and diamond shapes.    Method on this was pretty simple...polka dots and glitter! For the Mickey nail I painted the whole nail red and topped with Seche vite. After a few hours I went back and taped the bottom and painted over black. Add some dots and presto! For my...
