Zoya Charming collection for Spring 2017

Image
Hello! Long time no see! I have had a lot going on since my last blog. My sincere apologies to Zoya for taking longer than usual to get this blog published. I was going to do a little life update but y'all don't care about that, that's what Snapchat/Instagram/Twitter is for ;) let's get to these polishes! Which one do you think I chose to swatch last and wear for the weekend??

Zoya Naturel 3 Transitional Collection Swatches and Review

Image
Hello and Happy New Year!  I wound up taking a little time off blogging over the break....as I usually do when my kids are off school although I never really plan on it! It's just hard to do when they are buzzing around. I have lots of stuff planned for 2017, hopefully I will get to it all!  Today I have the new "transitional" collection that Zoya has traditionally been putting out for the last few years. They are usually fairly neutral colors designed to take you from winter in to spring. And Some of my favorite Zoyas ever have been from these collections!

Black Friday-its a jungle out there! (plus mini tutorial)

Image
It's Black Friday! It's a jungle out there! What deals are yall grabbing up today? Or did you go out last night?? I avoid the crowds at all costs, I have to stay home with the kiddos anyway :) My husband likes to go out and have the whole experience, sometimes we get deals and sometimes not! Today I have a look I came up with when I was swatching the China Glaze Seas and Greetings collection, which you can check out here. The title polish, Seas and Greetings, is a really pretty purple shimmer. It really glows, especially in the sun. I wanted to play with  my stamping stuff more, the more practice the better, so here's what I came up with! I used the Pueen Nature Lover 01 plate and a super opaque, one coater crème from last year's China Glaze collection, called Take a Hike. Here's the basic method for stamping. Brush some polish at the top of the image... Use the scraper to scrape the polish down the image...not too hard or you won't...

China Glaze Seas and Greetings collection for Holiday 2016

Image
Hello! Today I have the holiday collection from China Glaze. I have to say, if there was a collection more suited to me for the holidays I can't imagine what it would be! The title is "Seas and Greetings"....get it? Get it? Haha! It's all about celebrating the winter holiday somewhere warm and tropical. Um, hello!  I'm SO over winter in general. And it hasn't even gotten that cold here yet! I'm not a person who needs to experience "seasons" (put finger quotes around that) and if I never saw or wore a jacket again that'd be a-ok with me! I feel like I've been gushing over China Glaze a lot lately so my expectations  are really high for this collection! All swatches are topcoated unless noted!  Eat, Pink, Be Merry is a typical bubble gum pink creme. There's a strong shimmer in here that didn't pick up under my lights. This is 2 coats.  Warm Wishes is a coral creme. It was fairly streaky still after 2 coats so I add...

Zoya Enchanted collection for Winter 2016

Image
Hello! Today I have the Zoya Enchanted collection to share. Zoya typically puts out smaller 6-polish collections around the holidays and they are almost always stunners! This year is no exception! Saint is a periwinkle polish with a super strong duo chrome (shift to purple) and shimmer. It's quite beautiful and I can honestly say I have nothing else like this! It looked to be a little sheer on the first coat but covered completely in 2, and my nails are a little longish right now because I've been growing out a break. I'm not as nutty as most on the duo-chrome polishes but this one is magnificent!!   This is Olivera. Get familiar with the name, you guys all need to go out and get her RIGHT NOW. Guys! This polish is unbelievable! This is ONE COAT with topcoat. I will say always be careful to avoid your skin on such opaque polishes! It has such a blue-green shift it looks like oil spilled on your nails.   The following 2 pics were taken under my lights...

Zoya Urban Grunge collection for Fall 2016: The Cremes

Image
Hello! Today I have the second half of the fall Zoya collection called Urban Grunge. If you missed the Metallics be sure to check them out HERE!  These are advertised to be "one-coat" cremes. The summer cremes were advertised that way as well but didn't quite turn out that way for me. Let's see how these polishes stack up!

Zoya Urban Grunge for Fall 2016: the Metallics

Image
Hello! Today I have the first half of the fall 2016 from Zoya called Urban Grunge. This "metallic" half contains a few shimmers and a few new colors in the beloved scattered holos Zoya is known for! If you are a fan of Dream, Blaze, Aurora, Payton, and Storm then there's a few here you will need. NEED! Let's get to it! And be sure to check out the sister collection the Urban Grunge Cremes.

China Glaze Rebel collection for Fall 2016

Image
Hello! Today I have the fall collection from China Glaze, called "Rebel" and it's inspired by the music, colors and mood from the 90's! As usual China Glaze has a great mixture of finishes in this collection. What I WASN'T expecting was so many awesome one-coaters there would be! There's been a lot of hype over this collection, let's jump in and check it out! All swatched are done with basecoat and topcoat.  Fresh Prince-ss is a nice baby doll bubble gum pink cream. A little thin on the first coat but covered nicely on the 2nd. Not original but everyone should have a shade like this in their collection to go to!   Fresh Prince-ss Jagged Little Teal is a teal (duh, lol) creme. Snaps for the name, China Glaze! :) This color makes me weak in the knees-heart eyes! The formula is bomb.com. My middle finger nail needed 2 coats for some strange reason but all the other nails have one coat! I classify this as a one coater.  Literally, in my no...

Zoya Sunsets collection for Summer 2016

Image
Hey guys! Long time no blog! Since its been a while I thought I'd throw in a little life update :) My 3 boys are out for summer-they got out the 2nd week of May! We have just been hanging out and going to the pool as much as humanly possible. We miss the sun so much in the long winters here! They also make it very difficult for me to get nail stuff done during the day. I don't tend to polish at night like a lot of bloggers, my husband travels so much lately so when he is home I just want to hang with him! And when he's gone I'm pooped from single-parenting it! I also missed my blogging anniversary (6 years!) Ah well, I've been dying to get to these Zoyas so let's go! This is half of the Zoya summer collection for 2016, called "Sunsets". I'll have the second half coming up in a couple days! Zoya touts them as one-coat-wonders....that usually makes me nervous about staining and yet excited at the same time!  First up is Dixie- a reall...
