First time stamping snowflakes!

Image
Hello! Today I have more adventures in me getting into stamping. This is the mani I wore all last weekend. I was really feeling neutral and brown so I decided to dig through my Essies! The lighting was really terrible out-gray and cloudy. bleh. I used Mochacino (brown sparkly, untried), Parka Perfect (dusty blue, untried), Sand Tropez (nude) and Beyond Cozy (glitter). The plate I used is Moyou Festive 02, which is all single snowflakes. I just love it, but man is there a knack to picking up the whole image, especially when you aren't using polish specifically made for stamping! Some of those snowflakes have such detail engraved in them. Those fine detailed designs are definitely harder to get on the stamper than the regular ones. These polishes stamped fairly well, considering. indoor lights Overall I was pretty happy with this mani, especially since I was able to duplicate this on my right hand too! Point -> Stamping! I still have a lot of work to go.

What I wore: August, September, October 2015 (Spam!)

Hey guys! I have another WAY over due post! I haven't been blogging as much over the past couple months (aside from swatching) because I've been busy with stuff around the house. And we recently joined our YMCA (finally!) so I've been taking some yoga classes trying everything possible to get my issues with my neck and shoulders worked out. I think....I know it will help me in the long run but I'm still in the beginning stages of everything hurting all the time always. ugh! So its another thing pulling me away from the computer. I have a new planner and I'm trying to work out a schedule of fitting in all the thing I want to be doing! First world problems, I know. Back in August I was planning on doing a little end of the month summary of the polishes I've been wearing when I'm not swatching (still trying to use so many untrieds!) so I could document them here. Fast forward to December and I still haven't posted them here! Sooooo I just decided to combi...

Rocksbox Review and Essie Cocktail Bling

Image
Hey Guys! Today I have my first Rocksbox to share with you! I call Rocksbox "the netflix for jewelry" haha! It's a monthly subscription and they send you 3 pieces of jewelry to wear and try out, when you are done you send them back (free shipping both ways!) and they send you more! Of course, if you want to keep any you just let them know and they bill you for it. But you don't have to purchase any! Rocksbox has offered me a membership so I can share with you guys the kind of stuff they offer! My taste in jewelry is clean and simple, but they have jewelry for all tastes from what I saw scrolling through the gallery.  Here is what they sent me!  Necklace: Sophie Harper gold triangle pendant  Earrings: Kendra Scott Tessa stud earrings in Chalcedony Ring: Gorjana Infinity II ring in gold  I thought this ring would look pretty with Essie Coctail Bling, one of my untried! And a fitting name too! I'm new at taking pics with rings-it's harder...

Cinderella nails inspired by MAC Cinderella!

Image
Hey guys! Today is Cinderella movie day yaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not actually sure when I'll get to see it because we are in the middle of moving and things are a little crazy! Last week (or was it 2 weeks ago?) I stumbled across the MAC Cinderella collection. Some one I follow posted a picture of what she bought (from the first online launch I'm guessing) and I was like WHAAATTTTT! Cinderella has always my favorite princess, long time readers of my blog might remember when I made a running costume for the Disney Princess Half Marathon ;) My wedding was also (subtly and not so subtly) Cinderella themed! In recent times my interests have changed a little (more so each day I parent 3 hyenas boys.... ) I have been slowly getting into makeup the last few months (previously and my whole life I have been wearing very little.) And each morning I wake up just my face powder is not cutting it anymore if you know what I mean! It has...

Aqua and coral birthday nails for Danele! (And my blog anniversary!)

Image
Hey guys! Today is my 1 year blogrelaunchiversary!! Basically that just means that one year ago after being in blog limbo for a year (this was a cooking/crafting/running/general mish mash blog years ago) I decided to relaunch and feature nails, swatches, tutorials and art! I hoped I would be where I am now but didn't think it would happen as quickly as it did! Thanks to everyone who has left encouraging comments and supported me along the way! I can't wait to see what this year has in store! Coincidentally one of the amazing girls I've gotten to know through all this as a birthday today! So our little group decided to do a little tribute. Aqua and coral are some of her favorite colors :)  More after the break!

AGGIE WEEK Day 3, featuring Essie Angora Cardi and Argyle print!

Image
Hey guys! For Day 3, I have one of my fav Essies, Angora Cardi. It's not as bright as the last 2, its more subtle and muted, and probably more work appropriate if you shy away from bright colors! The formula is good, not awesome , and it's super thick. Mine could actually stand to be thinned down a little. But it such a gorgeous color! For the accent, I used a base of Essie Sand Tropez, which was one of the first nude-type colored polishes I ever owned, and I still love it! The white is just a Kiss brand White striper I picked up at a store! I've seen them everywhere by now. Check out the video for the tutorial...and try not to laugh too  much at my freehand skills! indirect sunlight click here for the video tutorial ! Its longer! For some reason I'm not able to upload it here like before, it's not coming up on my list of videos to choose from. Grrr. Still learning! But it's a longer version at least! Dusty shades like this plus such a fall print l...

31DC2014: Part one ... The colors!

Image
Hey guys! Long time no Blog! I've been taking a little break from blogging to get some things done around the house...nothing exciting, just some cleaning and reorganization!  After much deliberation, and I mean MUCH, I decided to do this year's 31 Day Challenge started a few years ago by Sarah of Chalkboard Nails. I did this last year, it was the reason I started my Instagram account! I was only doing my own nails off and on for about a year, and like I've said before, I NEVER would have thought this all would turn into what is has. So I've been doing these prompts, but there is no way it is humanly possible for me to blog every day! So I decided to only do 3 blogs for this challenge, one for each of the 10 day sections. That way I have time to fit in other blogs about other stuff...if I have time! 31DC2014 Part one!  The first is colors! Here we go! Day 1: Red I used Picture Polish Dorothy and Ocean (blue accents) and did a design inspired by one of...

Color block collaboation and My One-Year Instagram Anniversary! (Yes, that's a thing!)

Image
Hey guys! Guess what?? Today is my first Instagram anniversary...meaning when I first decided to start a nails only account in conjunction with taking the plunge and doing a 30 day nail art challenge. I had no idea what I was doing and no idea this would turn into what it did! On tomorrow's blog I'll have more about what inspired me, the first nail art I ever saw on the internet (yes I remember!) and I may even share some of my early work ;) But today, I have something super fun! I have made some really awesome friendships with ladies I've met in this community! Some of the most awesome ladies I've met are Danele, Marcella, and Aly, and we have formed a little group called The Glitter Gals! We have already done a few collaboration manis which you can see here for July 4th  and here for ocean colors colorblock  . We basically decide on a design and all do the same thing in our own way! (I don't think I've ever explained that here!) Click Read More for polishes us...

Essie mix and match

Image
Hey guys! As promised I'm trying to step out of my box this month. So here is a mix and match mani, which are quite popular but I don't do very often. Hmmm, what do you think? I used "nail  vinyls" for the 2 chevrons, I think there is a definite learning curve with them, as they didn't turn out as good as my times using tape. I will try them again! Apologies for the lighting, we haven't had much sun lately and I only take my pics outside so the lighting on these is natural light on a gloomy day. shade Colors used are all Essie: Come Here (coral), Beyond Cozy (glitter) and Mint Candy Apple (light blue...its not "mint" at all to me but whatever!) shade This is  my first time doing flowers/roses that aren't "cartoony" in type. I need more practice! shade This is Mint Candy Apple by itself. I love it as a light blue, but it's not a mint to me! shade

Design seeds inspired ocean colorblock nails

Image
Hey guys! I promise not every post is going to be like this but....the newness hasn't worn off yet of these awesome Design Seeds Palates! The next one I chose is an ocean theme....shocker. My lines this time didn't come out as crisp as they normally do because I was a little rushed...so is things these days. I'm not happy with the way my middle finger came out but I didn't have time to redo it. I will try not to make this one as wordy as last time! lighting: cloudy lighting: shade This is the palate I chose. ahhhhhhh from Design-Seeds.com Polishes used, from left:   Essie Naughty Nautical Essie Turquoise and Caicos Essie Sand Tropez Essie Masimillian strasse-her Fresh Paint Coconut (used as the base) OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons Hard Candy King of Pop ( I threw in the extra glitter because it matched and I felt it really went with them with I saw it sitting on my desk!) **I swear I don't have a lot of Essies....but I ha...
