Black and red "Anti-Valentine's Day" nails

Image
Hey guys! I have something a little different today, for me any way! Last week I had an idea for "anti" Valentines day nails using a mixture of reds and blacks. This is one of the few times something came out exactly as I planned! Between the time I did these and now I've seen several other similar idea'd manis around so I guess I'm not the only one with this idea, haha! I used 4 OPI polishes for this, 3 of which were untried! What!!! This post marks 13 untried polishes I've used this week. I'm super proud of that! black: Black Onyx. The most perfect black in the history of the world. Used many times and will continue to. The end. red shimmery crème: Innie Minnie Mighty Bow. This one is really pretty, I'm not really a red girl but this one is really pretty! I think I have most of both years of Minnie Mouse polishes, maybe I should do a swatch post on them? I've used most of them lots. Except this one, haha. But it's gorgeous! red gl...

Picture Polish Paris and a video tutorial for gold chevrons!

Image
Hey guys! Today I have a swatch which turned into a mani I have been wearing for like 6-7 days! I have just been so busy with other stuff around the house that my nail list is growing and growing and growing..... I bought Paris from Picture Polish for the bottle. I mean, look at it! LOOK! They recently released this and another called "Moscow" that have these city scapes on them. How amazing it it! The color of Paris is more in the coral-pink family, which I don't usually go for. But I had to give it a shot! When I was taking pictures all my camera saw was RED and this is definitely not a red polish, so I had to turn down the red level in the pics a little. I try really hard not to edit my pics too much (or at all) but sometimes, I'm finding, it's necessary. As a result my skin looks a little gray but that's ok ;) After a couple days, as always, I feel the need to add. Paris has a gold holo micro shimmer running through it so Zoya Tomoko was a natura...

Valentines Day nails with nude and RED!

Image
Hey guys! It's good to be back! If you follow me on Instagram you know about my drama this weekend. I won't go into it here but I might blog about it this week! (Phone drama, yall know.) Anyway, this is a look I came up with last week! It's hard to come up with new looks for Valentine's Day, even I just want to stick with hearts ;) And, I have lots of vinyls but the ones I have trouble using the most are the lightning bolt ones, because I feel like they can only really be used one way. So I forced myself to try to think out side of the box! I don't know, what do yall think? I started with a nude base (this polish may or may not be blogged, that's all I'll say about that, wink face) and used Lightning bolt vinyls from Glam my Mani (sent to me, I've used them many times before!) and my fine red Zoya PixieDust in Chyna. Go super slow, if Chyna gets on your cuticles she will not come off! For my ring finger I used a heart vinyl stencil, also fro...

Purple striped nails with nail vinyl tutorial

Image
Hey guys! I'm in purple today! I have a lot of purples, I don't know why I don't wear them that often. I used to really love purple! I have this on now and have since Monday? I have realized this is the longest I think I have ever worn purple! Really, this mani wasn't on my to-do list (yes, I have one haha) but came as an excuse to use my new Nicole by OPI Roughles ;) The glittery solid purple is Pipe Dream Electric Soul, and was my first Pipe Dream Polish! The white glitter is Pipe Dream Bundled up, which is from a special box of polishes that hopefully I will have a blog up soon about. And the purple texture is Nicole by OPI I'm Stucco on You! CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO TUTORIAL!  I made another video showing how I used nail vinyls to achiever the stripes! Its totally easy! Please check it out and let me know what yall think! By the numbers: Pipe Dream Electric Soul: 3 coats Pipe Dream Bundled Up: 3 coats NOPI I'm Stucco on You: 2 c...

Valentine's Day nails! Already? Yes! Plus OPI Mod About You

Image
Hey guys! Today I have another "spruced up" look that turned into Valentinesy nails! The base color is OPI Mod About You, which I have pics of at the end of this post. I wore it with a matte topcoat, which I really loved!! After I wore it for a couple days I wanted to add something before I took I off. I don't love the single chevron look, so I had make myself use them! I'm happy with the way it turned out! Click Read More to see more pics and 2 video tutorials!

Rapunzel-Inspired nails using Zoya Mattes, plus a taped tutorial

Image
Hey guys! (I start every blog like that, don't I?) Today I have something a little different. When I swatched the new, re-released Zoya Matte Velvet collection, which you can see here!  I was completely amazed at how fast they dried. Like, amazed.  For some it can be an issue because if you go over the same spot twice it can cause the polish to drag a little, but if you work quick enough you won't have that problem. Shortly after I swatched them and then wore Harlow for the rest of the week (for a wear test, post on that coming soon!) I had an idea. What if I could film a real-time video showing how fast they dry and how quickly you can tape over them to create a cute design? Thus my Rapunzel inspired mani was born!      A few more things about this since I don't talk in my videos....yet. :) -I started my stopwatch at the beginning, with bare nails. I did not stop it until I was done. -I only did 4 nails for this tutorial. My total time was 18 minutes...

AGGIE WEEK Day 4, featuring OPI Scores a Goal! and chevrons with bonus tutorial!

Image
Hey guys! Today's maroon is OPI Scores  a Goal! from this past spring's Brazil Collection (which I'm still madly in love with. The whole thing was just perfection. This polish is a bit darker, kind of a raisiny maroon with out being too vampy. The formula sets is apart because like all the other polishes in that collection, is just amazing. Smooth, buttery, 2 effortless coats. ahhhhhhh indirect sun I chose one of my favorite looks, chevron, for the accent here! As with all these looks this week, you could easily do these on all your nails, but I wanted to showcase the maroon polishes so I only did one! And guess what, I have a bonus tutorial for you! There are lots of ways to achieve the chevron look. The most simple is free handing with a thin or striper brush, but ummmmm I'm pretty terrible at that so I don't do it. Ever. When I starting doing chevrons, this is how I did them-I made them my self! There's lots of other options out there, including ...

AGGIE WEEK! Day 1, featuring Zoya Toni and polka dots!

Image
Hey guys! I'm so excited for this! These posts have been months in the making....I just haven't had time to do it the way I wanted to, the right way! My goal: to showcase my absolute favorite maroon polishes, that I have currently, as well as create some cute, easy to do looks for game days or any Aggie function! Some are easier than others, but I think you will find some on every skill level! I am also keeping the accents to just one nail, because I want to showcase the polish as well. But you could absolutely do it on every nail! I'm sure I will probably be saying this every day, but this one is probably my favorite. Zoya Toni. I don't think its part of the core collection but its available on their website, and they are always having promos. It retails for $9, but if you catch the promos there's really no reason to ever pay more than $5 for Zoyas! Toni wins for color and FORMULA. Guys, it's just a dream. It could EASILY be a one coater, although I use 2 fo...

Pipedream Polish watermarble plus video!

Image
Hey guys! Here is my first all-nail watermarble with the Pipe Dream neons. Every one is going crazy for these polishes and so am I! haha! For this look I used 3: All In (blue), Happy Hour (teal, bottle pictured) and VIP Pass (purple) I got a huge air bubble that led to a white spot on my middle finger, which I filled in with a dot but I don't think it looked any better or worse :/ watermarble! Indirect sunlight I just love them so much ;) Since I have the new phone I've been dabbling a little in video tutorials. Dabbling only! They take a lot of extra time so I'm not sure how many I'll be able to do but they sure are fun! I could watch watermarble videos all day! This is super fast sped up because Instagram only allows 15 seconds of video. Most of my videos will be like this at first, I surely don't have time to make 2 versions!
