Aggies Do It Better

Hey guys! Here's the latest installment of my mani-round up blogs. I started this at the end of the year last year as a way to move away from blogging every.single.mani I wear ( who has time for that?) especially when for the time being I am focusing on swatching and cataloging my collection. Sometimes I will be combing months like this one if I don't get around to wearing a lot of manicures for myself! This is mostly just for my own records, haha. I'm also trying to keep them concise because a) I can get wordy and b) these aren't really review posts! Hey guys! I have another mix and match mani today. And, write this down: I wore orange. It is a well known fact I do NOT like orange. I mean, it has it's place for art and what not and such, but that's about it. This is by far the most orange I've ever worn at one time. And no, this was not a full mani, just a look I created playing with  my new Nicole by OPI Roughles (swatches coming soon!) And, I used 3 untried polishes for this! Yay! It may be hard to believe but I have (um) several untried OPI's that I've collected over the months from clearance sales etc. But so far this month I'm doing pretty good plowing through them and my new polishes from the holidays! Hey guys! Today I have a simple swatch and and an easy tutorial. I am really trying hard to get through and try my untried, and one brand I have many of is Orly! I'm not sure why, I really do like Orly. I don't have that many, and most of them I've picked up on clearance at Sally. And then I never get around to using them! This one I picked up out of the clearance bin a couple months ago. I think it was one of the core colors that were being discontinued. It's called Mind's Eye, and its obvious why I chose it! Maroon, hello! This swatch is 2 coats, the formula was a little thin. I knew I was going to put glitter over it so I didn't use 3 but if I wear it again on its own I definitely would! I decided to put another one of my unused Orly glitters on just 2 fingers.  I used a sponging technique, where all you basically do is apply the polish to a makeup sponge to absorb the clear base and you get maximum glitter on the nail. This is a good technique to use...

Hey guys! This one's been in the drafts for weeks! I've just been so busy around here that I don't have time for blogging. I wanted to blog bout Orly Nail Rescue when I tried it the first time! I initially had a hard time finding it at Sally, but I wound up finding it by the Orly polish and not by all the other nail supplies. Orly Nail Rescue Here is what you get in the kit....instruction manual, file/buffer thing, nail glue, and nail rescue powder (is this acrylic powder? I don't really know) Orly Nail Rescue So basically, this is a product you can use to save your nail when you get a break or crack. When I bought this I didn't have one, but wouldn't you know days after I did! Somehow I managed to get a break in my pinky nail, way down at the base of the free edge. These kind of breaks are super painful to cut down or file down! nail break The instructions  say to brush the nail glue covering your entire nail. I didn't want to do that! Ugh...

Hey guys! These are my nails for the #LLGarden prompt on Instagram! I knew I wanted to do something with my new butterfly punches, but this came out totally different than my original plan! I still might do that some day. My favorite butterfly is the Blue Morpho. They are huge blue butterflies with black edging around their wings. I was going to use one of my iridescent blue OPI's for this, but changed my mind! I took artistic license and used Orly Macabre Masquerade , which you can see on its own at the end of this post. I wore it for a day and them used my new larger butterfly punch out as a reverse stencil and painted over it with OPI Black Onyx. One layer of Seche vite topcoat and that's it! Hey guys! This is a late post for today because a certain bottle of brand new polish WOULD NOT open and let me swatch my beautiful new textures. Thanks to my friends on Instagram for all your tips and I did get it open! But ...... too late for today. So I just did a simple St. Patricks Day mani, a "jelly sandwich" with Essie Marshmallow and Orly Mermaid's Tale. also, yay sun!  sun

Hey guys! More Football nails weeee! I really wanted to do some involving pink as a different option! These are super easy and quick. Time for some Orly Love!
