Color Club Modern Mosaic Collection (part one)

Hey guys!! I'm super excited to show yall these! This is the new Color Club Modern Mosaic collection, filled with matte teeeeeeeny tiny glitters! I found this in my Bed Bath and Beyond (purchased myself, with coupon) and I don't even think they are officially released yet! There's a ton of pics so I'll just get right to them with my thoughts at the end!

In this post I will show all of these polishes on a bare nail, which is not really how they are intended to be worn, I don't think....but I wanted to show yall the actual colors. More on that later! Each of these swatches is 2 coats, no base or topcoat!

This is Pixi-lated, a mix of dark fuchsia, light fuchsia, and white glitters. The overall effect is pink!

Next is Orange Crush, which is actually a mix of white, peach, and yellow glitters. The overall effect is orange, but because of the actual colors of the glitters I don't totally hate it! :) This one was the thickest of the bunch, kinda goopy.

This is Green Piece, a surprise favorite! If you like green then you need this! It looks great over so many colors! (more on that later!)  It is micro green and white matte glitters.

Next is Blue Beaded. Blue and white micro glitters. Love!

Going into it this was my fav, so I thought I'd show it with one coat, which is what most of these look like with one coat. This is Love You To Pieces, a mix of white, purple, and blue micro glitters. The overall effect is purple but it's very similar to the blue!

Last is Subway Station, a mix of gray and white glitters. Boy, yall, I am on the fence about this one. It kinda looks like cement, no?

OVERALL THOUGHTS:
I love these!!!!!!!!  I'm pretty sure these aren't meant to be worn on their own, I wanted to swatch them that way first so yall can see the actual colors. Tomorrow I will have a post showing how they look over some basic colors! I had to break it up into two posts because I had sooooooo many pictures! I'll link it here when I have it posted!

Here are some fun macro bottle shots I took and put together in a little slide show on my IG. I decided at the last minute to include them here!

Jamberry ombre

Hey guys! I have another Jamberry post for you! In addition to the sample set I received and reviewed here . I have a full set of pink ombre. I am so terrible at ombre with polish so I was excited to get these!

I wanted to show different ways you can use these. First up is just wearing the full set. I did have better luck with them laying flatter by stretching them while applying.

sun

Next is using the Jamberries as your main nail and using glitter as an accent. This is a way you can stretch your set! Glitter shown is OPI Excuse Moi.

Finally I have 2 Jamberries flanking texture. This a really fun way to mix it up! Polish shown is OPI Pussy Galore, a pale pink sparkly texture.

ACM (Academy of Country Music) nails!

Hey Guys! I have something really fun for you today! The ACM's (Academy of Country Music) are next weekend and I thought I'd do some more award-show themed nails to go along with it!  They are held in Las Vegas every year! I just so happen to have access to an ACTUAL ACM award....awesome right! It's totally real and won fair and square.  No, I'm not saying exactly how, but the few of you that read this that know me in real life know how. This thing was heavy!!

First off, I'd like to thank God, my family, my friends, my fingers and the sun. Hi kids, go to bed now, momma loves you.  Man, this thing is heavy! And, World Peace.

ACM Award!

Here's the bottle shots. I used a ton of polishes for this! Mostly all OPI!

1st finger: gold is OPI Love.Angel.Music.Baby and black is OPI Onyx
2nd finger: green is OPI Jade is the New Black and b/w is Onyx and a white striper
3rd finger: OPI Onyx for background, mic is OPI Push and Shove with OPI Which is Witch on top, and OPI I Snow You Love Me for the music notes
4th finger: White is OPI Alpine Snow and red is OPI Thrill of Brazil.
all are topped with Seche Vite.

whew!

This is the box the award comes in. It's a huge wood box with thick foam liner the award sits in.

This was super fun! Now I just need to get my hands on a Grammy...and an Oscar...and a Tony.....

Pop neons

Hey guys!! I'm so excited to finally share these! My husband picked these up for me on a recent trip to New York...I've never heard of this brand before but they had a ton of colors! He found them in a Duane Reade in Times Square. I requested a few neons because, believe it or not, I have no neons! Well, I do have one, its a lime green Salon Perfect, and I've only used it once (for my Seattle Seahawks nails I did here )

I just love the bottles too! They are thin rectangular bottles. How awesome are these colors??? BOY ARE THEY BRIGHT!!!

Pop neons

This is twelve, Pinky (they are numbered and named). This is a BRIGHT pink creme. I've heard true neons dry matte? If that's the case then this is not. In all these pics on my middle finger I have just the polish alone, and on all other fingers I have a white base down first. In all pics I used 3 coats of color.  I've seen that a lot of times with neons a white base is needed to really make the colors pop but I wanted to show them both ways.

Next is twenty three, Yellow. Points for an original name, right? WOW this is SUPER BRIGHT!!! So much so I sent a pic to my husband when I was swatching these and was like WOWZA BRIGHT!

Next is twenty eight, Radioactive. This is the only one of the bunch that dried matte. Which is funny because  the only neon I have is in this same color family, and it dries matte too!

Last is fifty three, Pacific hoot. This is my favorite, no surprise, right!

I wanted to create some nail art with these, so I did my old standby dots. I was originally going to do dots all over the whole nail but got half way and was happy so I stopped!

Then I added matte topcoat, of course!

OPI Gwen Stefani Collection......part 2

So....remember how I said I wasn't going to buy another pink? Well....um.....

I blame Sally's. I mean, they just started carrying OPI, and then they just got this collection in January, and now they are already on clearance????? A girl can only be so strong. I was completely happy with just the silver and gold. (Which I reviewed and swatched here) Well, pretty much. So, I picked up the pink. and MAN is it purrrrty. And, by the way, I DON'T have another pink like it. It sits right between Shorts Story and Kiss Me I'm Brazilian.

And then, one week later, I got an email from Sally saying they were having another 50% off clearance event. Which is exactly  why I didn't buy any more than I did earlier.... my spidey-nail-polish sense was telling me they were due. So I got my rear end in there and got the rest of the set. $2.25 is the lowest price I've ever paid for OPI, you better believe I'm not passing that up! I did purchase a "few" (pretend finger quotes there) other goodies.....those coming up soon :)

Here's a quick little "dotticure" I made with 3 of the collection. The tiny dots on my ring finger smeared a little when I added the matte topcoat...shouldv'e used SV first like I always do, DUH, lesson learned (and I did on the other fingers)

This is Hey Baby. I LOVE this, but I will say, the formula is a bit thinner than the Brazil collection. But it's so pretty I'll let it slide.

sun

shade

This is 4 In The Morning. I love how this collection has a mixture of finishes!!! 2 glosses, 2 satins, a glitter and a chrome. This is a shimmering black satin. I had my doubts about it but MAN is it gorgeous in the sun! I haven't tried it with topcoat yet but I hear its awesome as well. I'm not one to rock black nails all the time, but these satins dry SO fast I know I will be using this for art as much as I already use the gold.

shade

Next is the 2nd gloss of the collection I Sing In Color. Wow this is soooo pretty as well! The formula for me was not as thin as the pink. It's right in that super dark brown/maroon/vamp range that I really love on super short nails in the fall. I think it looks a lot more brown in this pic, to me in real life it looked more maroon.

shade

Last is the glitter In True Stefani Fashion. This is one I was going to readily pass on, I have several glitters a lot like it, just in different shapes.  Holy Cow this is SO DENSE!  This is one coat applied just like regular polish, no dabbing. Wow! Color me impressed!

Here's a little video showing the sparkles!!!
