Purple ombre Zebra stripes for Marcella's Birthday!

Image
Hey guys! Today I have some zebra stripes and another video! I am on a roll, haha! Today is my friend Marcella's birthday, my sista from anotha beach ;) and  one of my fellow "Glitter Gals". We have been having so much fun doing these birthday collab manis lately! It's been a busy week because hers and Aly's birthdays are only few days apart! Plus with this week being Valentine's week and me trying to get some looks done for that, AND videos, and life being hectic it's been crazy! Marcella loves purple and animal  prints so we decided to all chose a different animal to do. I called Zebra because it's the only one I can do ;)

Feather Nails

Image
Hey guys! I'm just still working through 2 projects....using all of my polishes I have and documenting them here on the blog (I have many that were used before I relaunched here but they don't count for these purposes) and tackling my long list of different art themes/techniques to try! Feathers have been on my list for a while but I have been quite intimidated to try them. One of the current prompts for the Nail It! Magazine is Feathers, so I thought I'd give it a go. I used all the polishes listed below and some fine detailing brushes sent to me by Winstonia Store . For the final look I used a matte topcoat, which wound up looking much better. I don't totally love these, but I don't hate them either? Meh. sun

Zoya blues and greens (plus Winstonia clean up brush review)

Image
Hello! More blues from me, haha! In continuing with my project to use the polishes I have (and not buy any more) I was rummaging through my Zoyas picking out blues and greens, several of which I still have from the Earth Day Sale I haven't even used yet! I'm also trying to work down my list of new and different techniques out there that I haven't done yet. One is called "negative space" , where you basically leave unpainted areas on your bare nail. I've always been kind of on the fence about this, because I'm not a big fan of VNL (that's nail code for visible nail line, hahahaha!) So I knew if I did it I'd have to think of a way to cover that up. The solution? Stripes! I do love me some stripes! shade

Tribal Nails and Winstonia Brushes Review

Image
Hey guys! Today I have my official review of the Winstonia nail art brushes  I was sent (although there's another one coming up!) My fine detailing skills are severely lacking and boy was I excited to get these! This mani is part of a Mani Swap I did with my friend Judy over at @Judyrox . She is all the way over in Spain! One of my favorite things about this crazy world of doing nails is getting to know  people all over the world, on line and in person! I just would have never of guessed  I would be in such a scenario! Anyhoo-as soon as I received these brushes I went straight to Judy's page for inspiration...because she is the Queen of these kind of tribal nails in my book! I figured, why not just go for it and try something super hard, right? She graciously agreed to let me copy one of her designs :) sun

Barbie Nails with OPI Mustang and Water decals!

Image
Hey guys! I have more Born Pretty Store  decals to review today! I've had an idea to do a vintage Barbie-inspired look for a long time! If yall forgot, the first Barbie that ever came out had a zebra stripe bathing suit on-so ahead of her time, yes? I also am trying out some new nail art brushes from Winstonia Store  and I will have more posts coming up on those! shade For this look, I started with Pink, Black and White polishes. The pink is called Girls Love Ponies from the new OPI Mustang Line...which I am jonesing for all of! My lovely friend Marcella of @lovepurplepolish gave this to me when I met her last week! How awesome is she? The black and white are OPI Black Onyx and Alpine Snow. Next, I added chunky black and white matte glitter called Black Tie Optional from Hard Candy. I used the  Winstonia striper brush (which I was sorely in need of! ) to paint zebra stripes on my first finger. Then I cut out a Barbie silhouette and dipped it water, slid ...
