31dc2015 Part one: the colors Roundup!

Image
Hey guys! Today I have a little roundup of all the mani's I did for the first part of this year's 31 day challenge! This is a fun little challenge that goes around in the  nail world each September and this is my 3rd year participating! Maybe I will actually complete it this year :( I always get stuck and burned out on the last part! My goal for this year is to try to use as much untried/unblogged polishes as I can, I have a little system of marking each one as it gets blogged about, it helps me when I want to get rid of some! This post has a lot pics and I will just get right into it! I have chosen not to blog for each  mani because I just don't have time!!! So I will have one post for each part (10 mani's). I will list each polish I used for each mani. If there's any other info yall want just let me know in the comments! At the end I have links for my manis from years past, its fun to see the improvement each year! 31DC2015 part one!

My first foil mani with Salon Perfect Baby Blues

Hey guys! Here's a mani I did last week for this go-around of submissions for Nail It! Mag, these  are for a "Foil" prompt for the March issue! I've never used foil before so I had no idea what I was doing, haha! But they turned out ok? The foil I have is like one small sheet crumpled up in a little round tin. I  just used my scissors and tweezers to break off little bits of it and lay down on my polish while still tacky. There are lots of other ways to use the foil, most more exciting than this! But I love the combo of blue/gold. I have no idea if these will get chosen or not, usually I don't post my submission mani's until the mag comes out but I wanted to share these now! Do yall have any tips to make using foils any easier? Because I was pretty much like a cat with scotch tape stuck to its paw. Take a minute for that visual. :)

31DC2014: Part one ... The colors!

Hey guys! Long time no Blog! I've been taking a little break from blogging to get some things done around the house...nothing exciting, just some cleaning and reorganization!  After much deliberation, and I mean MUCH, I decided to do this year's 31 Day Challenge started a few years ago by Sarah of Chalkboard Nails. I did this last year, it was the reason I started my Instagram account! I was only doing my own nails off and on for about a year, and like I've said before, I NEVER would have thought this all would turn into what is has. So I've been doing these prompts, but there is no way it is humanly possible for me to blog every day! So I decided to only do 3 blogs for this challenge, one for each of the 10 day sections. That way I have time to fit in other blogs about other stuff...if I have time! 31DC2014 Part one!  The first is colors! Here we go! Day 1: Red I used Picture Polish Dorothy and Ocean (blue accents) and did a design inspired by one of...

Glitter Placement flowers with Salon Perfect

Image
Hey guys! So..... I bought 5 out of the 6 red/white/blue glitters Salon Perfect put out for July 4th....then I got so busy and went out of town and didn't get a chance to use them! So now it's my mission to find ways to use them year round...because isn't there a rule about kitchen gadgets that you shouldn't buy something that has only one use? Well...I don't exactly follow that rule ;) but I'm applying the same principal here!! More pics after the jump! sun The base color is Salon Perfect Baby Blues, which I've had for a while but have never used! For shame! The circle glitter is called Save Me a Spot, it was limited edition so it's probably  not available anymore...sorry! You could do the same with loose glitter though. sun sun This was super easy guys! I just painted 2 coats of blue and then blobbed some of the glitter on an envelope, then used a dotting tool to pick up the ones I wanted. Topcoat then done! I kind of did this as ...
