China glaze periwinkle plumerias

Image
Hey guys! Today I have another look I came up with while swatching the China Glaze Seas and Greetings collection, which you can see here!  I'm clearly obsessed with this beachy holiday collection! As soon as I brushed on Good Tide-ings and saw how creamy and opaque it was, I immediately stopped and got out my stamping stuff! I'm having a lot of fun with my new interest in stamping and it's nice to have a rekindled interest in nail art. The technique is pretty simple. Brush a little polish at the top of the image.... Use your scraper and scrape the polish down to fill in the image.... Pick it up with your stamper and place on a dry nail.  I find about 10 min after applying Seche Vite is long enough. I'm still wrestling with my clear stamper having the head get pushed down in the base...how to I prevent that?? I brushed a little clear polish around in there hoping it would stick better and it didn't work....so I just have to press really gentl...

Black Friday-its a jungle out there! (plus mini tutorial)

Image
It's Black Friday! It's a jungle out there! What deals are yall grabbing up today? Or did you go out last night?? I avoid the crowds at all costs, I have to stay home with the kiddos anyway :) My husband likes to go out and have the whole experience, sometimes we get deals and sometimes not! Today I have a look I came up with when I was swatching the China Glaze Seas and Greetings collection, which you can check out here. The title polish, Seas and Greetings, is a really pretty purple shimmer. It really glows, especially in the sun. I wanted to play with  my stamping stuff more, the more practice the better, so here's what I came up with! I used the Pueen Nature Lover 01 plate and a super opaque, one coater crème from last year's China Glaze collection, called Take a Hike. Here's the basic method for stamping. Brush some polish at the top of the image... Use the scraper to scrape the polish down the image...not too hard or you won't...

China Glaze Seas and Greetings collection for Holiday 2016

Image
Hello! Today I have the holiday collection from China Glaze. I have to say, if there was a collection more suited to me for the holidays I can't imagine what it would be! The title is "Seas and Greetings"....get it? Get it? Haha! It's all about celebrating the winter holiday somewhere warm and tropical. Um, hello!  I'm SO over winter in general. And it hasn't even gotten that cold here yet! I'm not a person who needs to experience "seasons" (put finger quotes around that) and if I never saw or wore a jacket again that'd be a-ok with me! I feel like I've been gushing over China Glaze a lot lately so my expectations  are really high for this collection! All swatches are topcoated unless noted!  Eat, Pink, Be Merry is a typical bubble gum pink creme. There's a strong shimmer in here that didn't pick up under my lights. This is 2 coats.  Warm Wishes is a coral creme. It was fairly streaky still after 2 coats so I add...

Halloween 2016: pink and brown graveyard

Image
Hello and Happy FRIDAY! I knew when I set out to do non-traditional Halloween mani's I wanted to do pink and brown. One of my little Halloween vinyls from Twinkled-T is a little grim reaper dude, so he's the one that inspired this mani! I used China Glaze Don't Mesa With my Heart for the pink base, then a nail vinyl and Wood You Wanna to fill him in. The glitter is Dancing and Prancing....my ring finger is supposed to look like glitter in the tree....but I'm still practicing ok? Haha! I stamped with Chrome is Where the Heart Is on my pointer finger for the grave site. Stamping is done with Pueen Halloween Party 01 (aka the only Halloween plate I own). I'm fairly happy with the way these came out, considering!

Halloween 2016: 80's inspired neon

Image
Happy Halloween week guys! I'm not a fan of Halloween too much, in particular all the gory and gross stuff people so and wear, zombies and all that. Not for me! So for anyone else in my boat, I'm going to be doing as many non-traditional nail art designs as I can fit in before Halloween! For this mani I used several of the China Glaze Lite Brites collection: I'll pink to that (pink), None of your risky business (Orange), Whip it good (yellow), and Lime after Lime (green). I blobbed them all on to the design on the Pueen Halloween Party 01 plate and scraped twice to blend!  My base is OPI Alpine Snow and the black texture is OPI Emotions. I just used a lightning bolt nail vinyl to make the bolt :)

China Glaze Rebel collection for Fall 2016

Image
Hello! Today I have the fall collection from China Glaze, called "Rebel" and it's inspired by the music, colors and mood from the 90's! As usual China Glaze has a great mixture of finishes in this collection. What I WASN'T expecting was so many awesome one-coaters there would be! There's been a lot of hype over this collection, let's jump in and check it out! All swatched are done with basecoat and topcoat.  Fresh Prince-ss is a nice baby doll bubble gum pink cream. A little thin on the first coat but covered nicely on the 2nd. Not original but everyone should have a shade like this in their collection to go to!   Fresh Prince-ss Jagged Little Teal is a teal (duh, lol) creme. Snaps for the name, China Glaze! :) This color makes me weak in the knees-heart eyes! The formula is bomb.com. My middle finger nail needed 2 coats for some strange reason but all the other nails have one coat! I classify this as a one coater.  Literally, in my no...

China Glaze Lite Brites collection for Summer 2016 Swatches and Review

Image
Hey guys! So sorry for the absence! I have had this collection swatched for weeks and just have not had the time to sit down and type up my notes! My youngest son started a new preschool this past month and a few extra things as well so that along with trying to go to the gym more AND my regular responsiblilities have left me little time for nails. Can't wait for summer!! Lite Brites Summer 2016 Because I'm short on time I'll try to be consise on my reviews!  Hot Flash is a bright tomatoey red. I've always said this is a very wearable shade of red for me! Formula is fantastic-almost a one coater for me. This is 2 coats plus topcoat. Hot Flash None of Your Risky Business is a bright pastel neon orange. Not my favorite color, but if you are an orange lover this one's for you! I had some issues with this one not leveling out, but several other bloggers I follow had no trouble. This is 2 coats plus topcoat. None of Your Risky Business Whip it...
