Disney Cruise Nails 2017

Image
Hello fellow land dwelling friends! We are back from our vacation where we went on another Disney Cruise! We have done a few now and they have been the best trips our family has ever been on. This was our first voyage on one of the classic ships. Can not recommend enough! This was the longest cruise we have done, and I took the most footage ever. It will take me a little bit to sort through it all! I plan on several blog posts and a video. I can't decide whether to divide it up by day or category (food, entertainment, ports, etc) so I'm open to any and all suggestions! I'm starting today with the mani I created and wore the whole time! I was really indecisive about what to do, and therefore waited until the last minute to do these nails and was up entirely too late the night before we left! Once I finally decided on a color palette this is what followed, 2 hours later!

Lush The Christmas Penguin bubble bar inspired nail art

Image
Hello! Can y'all believe Christmas is in one week ?? I never feel ready! Today I have a closer look at the Lush Christmas Penguin bubble bar inspired nail art! If you missed that post check it out  here. Anytime I need a blue I go straight for my OPIs because I have the most of them. OPI No Room for the Blues   was the best match!  I used OPI Tiffany case on my first finger, which is a sparkly blue textured polish, and Where did Suzi's man-go for the orange creme. Zoya Beatrix  is the orange texture.  To make the penguin nail I picked up the whole image and then used scotch tape to remove the part I didn't want. Then I did the same with the second color. I'm still practicing a looooot with my stamping before it actually goes on my nail. Passes the time waiting for it to dry! Here is a look at the  Moyou Enchanted 05 plate , isn't it just gorgeous??? I used the littler snowflake image on the left that matched the border on t...

Lush Shoot for the Stars bath bomb

Image
Hello! Today I have the super popular Shoot for the Stars bath bomb from Lush! This is a re-release holiday item, but it got a makeover this year. To me it's brand new! Shoot for the Stars shares it's scent with Honey I Washed the Kids soap, which if you've never smelled its like honey/caramel/creme brulee/vanilla all wrapped in one. My kids and my husband swooned over the smell as soon as they came near it! Lots of sweet teeth in my family :) I don't normally combine bubbles when I'm using a bath bomb for the first time, but I did this time. They are from the little Penguin bubble bar, review on him coming later this week. LOOK at the awesome royal  blue swirls in the water! Heart eyes! Once the bath bomb dissolves, which it does fairly quickly, it pops out several little gold lustre filled bath melts which take their time melting into the water and BOY do they make your skin soft!  LOOK at this amazing blue color! I. AM. IN. LOVE. ...

Lush Snowie bubble bar inspired nails

Image
Today I have the follow up with more details about my Snowie inspired nail art, which I posted yesterday, click here  to see if you missed it! First, can we talk about what OPI I Juggle...Men did on my nail? When I applied my topcoat ( I used Seche Vite  here) it totally wrinkled up??? When this happened I all of the sudden remembered reading about this happening to another blogger years ago when this polish came out. I used it on another nail with out topcoat and it did the same thing. Such a bummer, its such a pretty holo topper! The red/orange is OPI My Paprika is Hotter than yours and the blue is OPI Can't Find My Czechbook (which I'm using a lot lately....heck year round!)  what the heck??? For the stamped snowflake like nails I used the Pueen Fairy Tale Lover 01 plate  . I just used a dotting tool for the dots and Lightning bolt nail vinyls for the bolt....It got a little tricky to place the blue shadow for the bolt. I didn't feel like wait...

Lush Snowie bubble bar

Image
Hello! Today I have a the Lush Snowie bubble bar, a tribute to David Bowie! This bubble bar is so cute! I'd be lying if I said I didn't buy  it because I knew it would make cute nail art! The scent is light and fresh, and very clean smelling. My internet research says it has the same scent as the Frozen bath bomb, which I haven't tried yet  because I'm afraid of all the glitter! But I probably will at some point. You can see in the short little video how much I cut off for this bath. Just the smallest amount made an enormous amount of bubbles!! There's something about pure white, glistening bubbles :) I'm really impressed with this bubble bar and I think I'll get a lot of uses out of one bar. The scent is mild and clean and would pair well with any other bath bombs. If I have a chance to get some more on sale I definitely would! Here's a better look at the matching mani I did, I'll have a post on that tomorrow! ...

Lush Never Mind the Ballistics bath bomb review

Image
Hello! I hope where ever y'all are you're having better weather than us here in Tennessee. The past week has been really crazy and sad wildfires in east tenn, now we are full fledged into the winter season. We basically didn't have a fall! Winter in Nashville is bleak: gray, overcast, drizzly, and miserable. We go for a week at a time with no sun. It's just terrible! We are on day 3 of this bs now with no end in sight. I'm so glad I had this bath bomb from my Christmas  order to lift my mood! Nails: OPI Hey Baby (pink) and I Just Can't Cope-cabana (yellow) Never Mind the Ballistics is (I believe) new this year, it's a full bath bomb dipped in cocoa butter so you have the effect of a bath melt and bath bomb in one! This is the first one of this kind I've ever used. It's so bright and cheerful it can be used year round!! And the smell?! It. Smells. So. Good. I just could not get over it. (I can stil detect it in my bathroom a day and half late...

Thanksgiving 2016: Using my OPI Untrieds and new nail vinyls

Image
Happy Thanksgiving! Hope everyone is stuffing themselves silly today :) For today's look I decided to rummage through my OPI drawers and find some untrieds to use. I have the most untried OPI's of any other brand because for a long time I was grabbing them up when I found sales like crazy! I also recently ordered some nail vinyl stencils but I haven't used that many of them yet. The bottle shown is OPI German-icure, a really pretty reddish brown shimmer. It's perfect for Thanksgiving! It had a phenominal formula considering I hadn't cracked the bottle yet. My bottle of Samoan Sand has also gone unused for years because it was stuck shut. I had this problem with one other bottle and was advised to soak it in hot water. Which works (surprisingly) but most of the time I can't be bothered and have other similar polishes to try! Today was the day. (pardon the mess) wha-lah! Got it open, but it was still hard! How does that even happen? Sloppy filli...

Thanksgiving 2016: Simple Stamped Leaves

Image
Happy Thanksgiving week again! Tomorrow is Thanksgiving....what is everyone eating?! I seriously love Thanksgiving. Its one of the few redeeming qualities about Fall. I love making a huge meal with a ton of sides, gravy from scratch and a giant turkey! And the leftover turkey sandwiches for daysssss. Are you a turkey sandwich person or a full plate of leftovers person? Full plate here but my husband and kids are sandwich people. I am so obsessed with the newfound looks that stamping is giving me! I seriously never thought I would get into stamping. I even just ordered some more plates! For some reason though, I have several Pueen plates now but the Nature Lover 01 plate I keep going back to.  I love this leaves design! I thought I'd try a little contrast stamping for a simple yet elegant look. The polishes I used are, from left, OPI- OPI Scores a Goal! and OPI Don't Bossa Nova Me Around. These are both from the Brazil collection a few years ago, which is phenomenal. If ...

First Ever Dia De Los Muertos nails inspired by soap!

Image
Happy November 2! It's still 85° here, oh happy day! I think today will be our last truly warm day so I have mixed emotions! Sugar skulls have been popular in the nail world used for nail art for years....I've never really been into that look, partially because I'm not into Halloween that much or skulls of any type. Then when I watched the movie The Book of Life a couple years ago that all changed! It's a beautiful, funny and sweet movie that's not just for kids. It's become one of my favorite movies! After watching that I understood the meaning behind Dia De Los Muertos. Since then I did want to do those designs but I knew there was no way I was doing that without a stamping plate. Fast forward to a few weeks ago when my one and only Halloween plate arrived and there are a few sugar skull designs on it!  Fast, fast forward to today when I finally got to mess around with them! I didn't really have a plan going in, but this morning I was washing my ha...
