What I wore November/December 2015 (nail art and swatch spam!)

Image
Hey guys! This is a long over due post since I stopped posting a blog for every mani, only swatches for the most part. I keep procrastinating this one for some reason! I will be posting these every few months to document my real-life manis and continue marking my untried polishes as "blogged"! It helps me when I want to thin the herd, haha. So these are the polishes I wore in November and December of 2015.     Loaded Lacquer Tiki Torched (untried). I can't remember if this was 2 or 3 coats, but I loved it! Add caption Tiki Torched with Love Angeline A Twinkle in my Eye (untried)- after a day or so I broke out my vinyls and added a little accent of this rose gold glitter. I loved it! In November my town got our very own Ulta! Yippee! Before I was having to drive 25 whole minutes, and before those opened (all in the same year!) I had to go 45 min. I never wear orange but I had to to celebrate! I wore OPI Where Did Suzi's Man-go? and All ...

Cinderella nails inspired by MAC Cinderella!

Image
Hey guys! Today is Cinderella movie day yaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not actually sure when I'll get to see it because we are in the middle of moving and things are a little crazy! Last week (or was it 2 weeks ago?) I stumbled across the MAC Cinderella collection. Some one I follow posted a picture of what she bought (from the first online launch I'm guessing) and I was like WHAAATTTTT! Cinderella has always my favorite princess, long time readers of my blog might remember when I made a running costume for the Disney Princess Half Marathon ;) My wedding was also (subtly and not so subtly) Cinderella themed! In recent times my interests have changed a little (more so each day I parent 3 hyenas boys.... ) I have been slowly getting into makeup the last few months (previously and my whole life I have been wearing very little.) And each morning I wake up just my face powder is not cutting it anymore if you know what I mean! It has...

Teal Mix and Match mani featuring Pipe Dream Polish Frozen Over

Image
Hey guys! I have another mix and match mani today...I told you I was going to be doing these a lot! Teal and turquoise are still my favorite colors lately. I just can not get enough! On my index, ring, and pinky fingers is OPI Fly, one of my favs. But DANG yall she's a stainer. I would wear it more if it wasn't! Even with a base coat it still stains a little. I had to redo my ring finger and didn't use a basecoat. My nail was green when it took it off :( However, a little scrub with my nail brush and whitening toothpaste and most of it came off. But still! My thumb and middle finger is Nicole by OPI On What Grounds? Which is another one of the "Roughles" I received for Christmas. I seriously love it! Full review coming! For the silver dots I used Island Girl Tropical Hawaii and a dotting tool. Easy! But it wound up looking kind of loud so I put a matte topcoat over it and it helped tone it down. The glitter on my ring and pinky is Pipe Dream Poli...

Pink Mix and Match mani with Loaded Lacquer

Image
Hey guys! Today I have a little "mix and match" mani trying out a few of my new polishes! You guys are gonna see a lot more of these from me in the coming weeks because its a great way to try several polishes at once and it gets you out of the box! The pink glitter on my first 2 fingers is called "Freezing my Baguettes Off" from Loaded Lacquer.  It's a light pink crelly with darker pink circles, hexes and iridescent white squares. It took 3 thin coats for me to be as opaque as I wanted and as with all milky polishes like this you need a topcoat because they matte down a little as they dry. I again used my new HK Girl topcoat which I will have a review of soon! The creamy pink is "No Bra" also from Loaded Lacquer. This is a unusally opaque jelly! I only needed 2 coats for full opacity! I also used the same topcoat. On my pinky and thumb is Nicole by OPI "Rock the Look" which is from the set of 4 "Roughles" polishes they put...

31DC2014: Part one ... The colors!

Image
Hey guys! Long time no Blog! I've been taking a little break from blogging to get some things done around the house...nothing exciting, just some cleaning and reorganization!  After much deliberation, and I mean MUCH, I decided to do this year's 31 Day Challenge started a few years ago by Sarah of Chalkboard Nails. I did this last year, it was the reason I started my Instagram account! I was only doing my own nails off and on for about a year, and like I've said before, I NEVER would have thought this all would turn into what is has. So I've been doing these prompts, but there is no way it is humanly possible for me to blog every day! So I decided to only do 3 blogs for this challenge, one for each of the 10 day sections. That way I have time to fit in other blogs about other stuff...if I have time! 31DC2014 Part one!  The first is colors! Here we go! Day 1: Red I used Picture Polish Dorothy and Ocean (blue accents) and did a design inspired by one of...

Zoya Tickled Collection Summer 2014 Swatches, Review and Comparisons

Image
Hey guys! Today I have half of the new Zoya summer collection, called the Tickled Collection! It consists of 6 bright and cheery cremes! There's a ton of pictures so I'll keep the chit chat to a minimum...except to say WOWZA aren't they pretty? Final thoughts at the end! Zoya Tickled Collection 2014 I will say this to start...all swatches have 2 coats of color over one thin coat of ridge-filling basecoat. That is how I tend to wear all  my mani's so I wanted to be consistent! Also, the formula on all of them is really consistent, pretty thick (standard for a creme) and almost one-coaters with the exception of Kitridge. First up is Rocha, a red-orange creme. I will say in some swatches I've seen it looked pretty red, but to me in reality it is and even split on the red/orange line. Yall know how I am about orange, but I don't mind this! Applied like a dream. sun shade For the comparison, can I get a quick pat on the back for having an...
